Psalm 16:8 — “I have set the Lord always before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.”
Jeremiah 10:23 — “O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: It is not in man that walks to direct his steps.” I may think I know what I’m doing and where I’m going, but really, it’s not me that knows best. It’s God. He knows better than I what I need and where I am to be and what I am to do. My job is to rest and surrender and trust Him in it all.
A verse that has meant a lot to me since last February is Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for You, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.”
And from Psalm 18, my favorite psalm, is verse 30 —“As for God, His way is perfect….”
I’m pretty sure we’ve got too many girls in this dorm together; pretty much all of us were going haywire today for some reason or another. And when you’ve got 13 girls on the floor and the majority are falling apart for various reasons, it ain’t good! As Eva said a few minutes ago, we need a couple good level-headed guys in here … only that’s not gonna happen! So I phoned a level-headed friend (a girl, don’t worry, peoples). Laughter is indeed the best medicine, because I’m in much better shape now! Thank God for friends. Thank God for His Word that helps straighten our our perspective. Mommy RA called us into the hall just before our study hall, to pray together. Let it suffice to say that was very needed and it was balm to my soul.
