Choosing Joy and looking for Jam on the Bread again

It’s late. But my internet is still on, and I want to quickly blog. It’s brutally cold here again. BRRR!!!

I officially booked my final school flight to take me home at the end of the year!!!!!   (Mom, I’ll forward you the itinerary later) I got of the phone and nearly screamed wtih excitement!!!  And for a really good price too!  I officially pronounce WestJet as having the best “call waiting” entertainment.  They’re hilarious!  All that guy’s wisecracks while you’re sitting there on hold…I was trying to study for my OT test tomorrow while I was waiting, but I kept getting distracted and listening instead!

Me and my man were talking tonight (yeah, we do that a lot!) and we were talking about the little things that God does for us, but we’re so busy and pre-occupied that we don’t notice, or do notice but promptly forget.  And so I decided I really need to get back to blogging, because my purpose in starting this blogs was to “Choose Joy” by taking note of the little things in life, and to notice the “jam on the bread” ( that God gives.

So — the best thing about today?  (other than the phone call!)  (April, how are you doing with the kids?  I kept checking my MSN and Facebook, waiting for you to come online)   It would have been my practical again.  Those old people are so precious.  So hilarious!  I was talking to one lady after our meeting, and she asked where the other girl was who normally comes with us, and I said she was gone, and yes, it’s just the three boys and I now.  I dramatically added, “Pray for me, PLEASE!”  Well, she promptly put her hand on my shoulder and started praying for me!  It was funny.  And sweet.  I like my old ladies!  I am thankful that God has placed them in my life here.

  1. My time with the kids has been both wonderful and challenging. I’m going home today for a much needed sleep. The baby woke up at 4:00am and needed cuddling and a bottle. I didn’t go back to sleep until after 5:30 and the four year old woke me up at 6:00. 🙂 The 2 1/2 year old slept until 6:30! (I normally have had to put him back to bed around 4:30) The problem was I was listening for him and couldn’t go to sleep. Oh well, despite the lack of sleep I am going to miss my kiddies. I think I might be rather attached 🙂

  2. Wow – sounds like somebody had a short night or something!

Lois is coming home, coming home, coming home-
Lois is coming home, coming home, coming HOME!

Hard to imagine after saying goodbye to you in 2006, you’ve booked your final flight home!

I haven’t been able to read your blog recently, but tonight I’m catching up!!
