Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!  Wow.  2010!  I remember reading science fiction books about all the crazy things we would do in 2010, like living on Mars and flying to the moon just for kicks.  Apparently, 2010 is not quite like that!

We spent New Year’s Eve in the city this time.  Jerry had spoken with the city council and arranged fireworks and a free Chopin concert just for me, ’cause it was my birthday, so we had a lovely evening.  City council didn’t want to comply at first, but when he told them it was my birthday, and threatened to withdraw his 10 million dollar funding from their programs, they quickly agreed, so it all worked out in the end.

OK, ok, so maybe there was no 10 million dollar funding and maybe they didn’t do the fireworks and Chopin concert JUST for me, but you have to admit, having your birthday on New Years Eve DOES have some perks!

Jerry got a deal on a hotel room that night that was one block away from the fireworks, so that worked perfectly, especially because it was a very cold night.  It was nice to walk one block back to our warm room and not have to walk a long ways in the cold to a cold car and then deal with traffic for another two hours!  It was cool to stay in a sky-scraper for night too, and see all the lights of the city, and look down at the vehicles that looked like toys.  We felt like millionaires!

Got to run.  Just got called in to work, so I’m off to see my old people!

  1. What great memories! Love Chopin! I knew you were extra special… I suspected that Jerry might know that you were extra special… but you MUST be extra extra special is the city council did all that just for you! 🙂
